I am David Miller, Director of Site Operations for Spin Transfer Technologies in Fremont CA, and I am pleased to offer my recommendation of Qualtech Mechanical Inc. and Jim Quittner. Based on my experience, you would be hard-pressed to find a better group for your process piping and mechanical contracting needs.

In early 2015, Spin Transfer embarked on the 2nd phase build-out program to massively increase the square footage and number of tools in our fab facility. Our General Contractor for the build-out chose a different mechanical and process piping company as a subcontractor. That other company did a good job of setting up the piping runs and installing the new HVAC components, but we did not care for the style and "chunkiness" of their piping drops and fluid manifold connections to the tools. We have limited space in our clean room and have crammed as many tools as possible in the area available; large ungainly piping runs just would not work.

On the recommendation of a colleague who had previously worked with Qualtech, we asked Jim Quittner to come by to look things over and submit a bid. Jim came prepared with photos of his previous work (beautiful tight manifolds taking up a fraction of the space I thought was necessary). During the job walk, he impressed me by asking smart questions and had several excellent suggestions on how to solve certain issues.

We awarded the fit-up contract to Qualtech, and I am happy that we have done so. Jim and Company have been easy to work with, their craftsmanship is exemplary, and they have been very responsive to our concerns and needs all throughout the process.

To summarize, we have worked with Qualtech, and we will continue to work with them for all future jobs. I recommend them highly, and I suggest that you will not regret having them work for you too.
